While exploring in the Sonoran Desert, I found this isolated saguaro and was captivated by the play between the vertical element and the horizontal bands of color in the ground, vegetation, mountains, and sky. While the saguaro stands alone, this feels less about loneliness and more about the relationship between the individual and the self, a sense of belonging in the environment, and being connected, while also alone.
