Cactus Crown

This painting is all about color and light. It was a challenge to depict the vividness of the hues and subtlety of the light. I composed this painting desiring to show depth in the blooms that shift from deep maroons, sunlit reds, opera pinks, and glowing oranges.
The result is a mesmerizing painting that causes the eye to dance around the canvas from point to point. All this while set against an energetic, contrasting turquoise.
