In Minnesota, plein air watercolor in winter is particularly challenging, but also incredibly rewarding. Our winter has been very mild this year, and so I was excited to capture this scene during one of the few good snows we've had. The light, stillness, and solitude that winter in Minnesota can elicit is what I hoped to capture.
