Undercurrent Mystery

Undercurrent Mystery
This painting was painted on location at Peace Valley KOA, Happy Valley Road in Murphy, NC over two separate days one week in March, 2024. I was immediately drawn to the barn and distant mountains but as the morning progressed I noticed all the pretty reflections caused by the sandbar or something else that caused the two drags on both sides of the Valley River. What was underneath is a mystery and that is the reason I chose this title.

They say life is like a river flowing from place to place, time to time, chapter to chapter. There are many undercurrents along the way, some good and some not so good. Many times we are unaware of them but we see the effects of them. The good ones create a wonderful ambience and reflect positively all around. They cause us to stop and reflect for a short while. Then there are other undercurrents that cause more harm than good, whether intentional or not. It is my hope that the undercurrents in my painting and in my life reflect positively for you and bring you peace and joy as you view it.

Many thanks to Dee, Allison, and all the staff at the Peace Valley KOA there in Murphy, NC. It's a beautiful spot to paint, relax, and enjoy family. I got to spend the last painting day with my dad. He was visiting from out of town and we celebrated our birthdays together. His is in March and mine in April. What a great memory and I am so happy we got this time together!
