The Work of His Hands
I met this potter during a plein air festival. I quickly introduced myself to him after he finished at the wheel, and told him I wanted to paint him. His response was, "Right on", hinting at his "hippy" lifestyle. I should have guessed it by the bare feet. He came to my studio multiple times to sit and I did multiple studies before painting this large work that now hangs in my studio. I probably will not sell this large painting- because as I work it reminds me of Christ and how he is "Still working on me- to make me what I ought to be" like my Dad used to sing to me when I was little.
