The enchanted hour
In August I and some of my friends were plein air painting for a few days in the Botanical Garden in Balchik in Bulgaria, which is a very beautiful place filled with a lot of history. The Nymphaeum there is one of the most beautiful places in the whole garden. One day we walked through there just before the sun was starting to set and one of the corners was lit up by it. It looked like it was some magical place from a fairy tale. The next day I went back to the Nymphaeum again so I could take a photo with my camera. The lighting changes so quickly during this time of the day so I waited there for an hour so I wouldn't miss the moment. I chose oil paint because of the vibrancy of the colors and also because this medium allows me to get into more detail.
