This painting was composed from several items that have a great deal of sentimental value to them. The title “Taking Stock“ came about while brainstorming on how to work them together to tell a story. The label on the box pointed my mind in the direction of hot biscuits or pancakes in the wee hours of the morning before hitting the saddle.
