This scene is near Gallop, New Mexico. Thanks to Hamilton Charlie and JR Sanders, I have had the great privilege of painting on Navajo lands. There is incredible beauty to be seen and painted in New Mexico. I loved painting all the red rock, beautiful mesas, and arid plains. This scene particularly caught my eye with the strong shadows in the foreground and the golden light hitting the back canyon.
