Midnight Smoke

As I engaged in long philosophical midnight talks with my friend on a dark and clear summer night, he pressed a cigarette between his lips and lit the end. The way the warm light from the flame engulfed his face in contrast to the harsh blue light shinning down from the street lamp seemed to be begging to become a painting.
