Betelgeuse Supernova

Betelgeuse Supernova, Nocturne
Betelgeuse Supernova
This depicts the massive slashpile burned in Sourdough Canyon during winter of 2023 (it burned for 3 months). Skiing to the burn, I was accompanied by the Orion constellation most nights. It has recently been observed that Betelgeuse, (the central red star) is nearing the end of its current existence. If we’re incredibly lucky, we will witness it supernova in our lifetime, an event millions of years in the making.
