Inspired by the southern California light, this piece quickly got a hold of my hand and heart as I scaled the sandstone cliff, feeling the dirt drop away and crumble under my fingers. I felt the cool notes of turquoise sandstone in shadow as it turned into iron oxide sediment cool my cheek as I rest.
