The Scientist

Every week my colleague leads a group of university students and colleagues up a sacred mountain at night in downtown Kyoto city for nature viewing. This scene is from one of those excursions. I hoped to capture some of the feeling of awe that we experience as we find various life forms, from plants, fungi, and arthropods to giant flying squirrels and wild boars.
